24 Feb 1998

11 years ago, on this very day, back in Ngee Ann Polytechnic, my hubby and I became part-time boy-girl friends. Sounds weird eh? That's cos we were recovering from our individual breakups and didn't want to be too committed in a new and even 'uncertain' relationship.

However, as Fate has it, we fell in love with each other truly and fully at a supersonic speed! We converted to full-time lovers on 5 Apr 1998, which was slightly over a month from our part-time beginning... I can say no relationship is smooth sailing and takes lots of commitment, time & effort to maintain... Of cos, the topmost important factor to bind 2 together is, LOVE.

We had our ups and downs throughout all these years... I'm glad we had conquered so far whatever obstacles that had tried to threaten our relationship. We even 'conquered' the wedding preparations! Haha... Why did I say this? Cos there were instances where couples went their separate ways as their opinions & ideas differ to a huge extent and tolerance level were maxed out. Sad case.

Anyway, just to share what I wear to work on my hands daily... a Solvil Titus watch, I bought hubby the same design too some years back, so he wears it to work too everyday... a solitaire ring that hubby bought me on my 21st birthday... and finally, my wedding band bought from Lee Hwa on 31 Dec 2002 and we ROMed on 1 Mar 2003.

Colleagues have been asking why is it I'm wearing my wedding band on my middle finger instead of the ring finger. That's cos we were FAT when we ROMed and we slimmed down quite a bit for our wedding. Thus if we wore our wedding bands on our ring fingers, it'd slip off very easily. There was once when hubby really lost his ring on a cab. Luckily he took the receipt and was able to trace back the cabby who gladly returned the "Precious" to him. Phew...

I'm just happy I got to meet him so early in my life. ROM on our 5th year, customary wedding on our 10th year...

To 老公, 我爱你!Happy 11th year anniversary!

New chapter in life...

*sigh* I'm now missing my wedding day on 14 June... Came and went so fast... Took so many months to prepare just for this one special day. Lots of work & people involved and I don't regret it. It was stressful but fun as well. Life goes on... at least we were the "superstars" that day! Haha...

Nerve-wrecking, rushing from place to place, hiccups on the program... I guess this is pretty much expected for most weddings. Though we've been husband & wife in the eyes of the law since 2003, but only after the customary wedding, then it's the true start of our married life.

Now that hubby is at work, I'm at home with in-laws, think it's time to start my jobhunt... Next step, would be to save up for a flat of our own. A last goodbye to singlehood... Sayonara! Welcome to a whole new chapter named "Married Life"... :)

Grandma in hospital

My maternal grandma just got sent to Singapore General Hospital (SGH). Found that her small intestine got stuck with her big intestine somehow. I don't get it either. So the doctor says that she has to undergo an operation. If the problem left unattended, the pain will continue and it might endanger her life. Undergoing an operation at her old age of 85, with severe heart problem and diabetes, there is a possibility that she might just die on the operation bed. Anyway, my grandma decided to go ahead with the operation.

Hubby and I went to hospital for a short visit last night... I'm glad she's looking OK after yesterday morning's operation. :) Hope she can recover soon.

Lumpy?

Went to Mt. Alvernia Hospital for a follow-up checkup today. Last year 30th Apr, I had removed a fibroid in my left breast. So I'm back to see the doctor after 1 year. At first, I got a slight shock when she was examining my right breast, she said she felt something lumpy. My mind went blank for a moment. Could only managed a "What?" as a reply. Then using ultrasound scan to verify, (phew!) it was just a thick group of breast tissues. Yippee! At least as of now, I don't need to go under the knife again. :P

As for the scar I got from the surgery, not only has it darkened in colour, it has also grown to look like a miniature hill over my skin. It didn't come as a surprise to me as I've got keloid problem. Anyway, the doctor gave me a prescribed cream Elomet to apply over the scar, in a bid to lighten the colour and flatten it. No idea how long it's gonna take before it takes effect, keeping fingers & legs crossed now...
